When talking about the modern communication era, “Emoji” takes a very important stand on the stage from all fronts. Not only smartphone makers put prime efforts on that but other 3rd party app makers or even celebrities (e.g., Kardashian Emoji) are releasing their brands of emoji icon sets from all over the world. Since “Emoji” is taking over the world, almighty Apple released their blended version of it and called it – “Animoji” in their 2017 iPhone release (iPhone X). This didn’t just create a buzz but really construct another type of fan base solely for this feature. Of course, Samsung wouldn’t miss this golden opportunity; hence, big Sam released their own version of it and called it – “AR Emoji”. Well… even though it blended well with modern technology, it really looks and feels creepy. It’s not for the prime time use … at least … not for the target mainstream smartphone users anyway.
AR Emoji – looks and feels creepy.
Gboard Minis Came to Play & Took the Crown
Maybe a lot of you folks still don’t know what “Gboard Minis” is and wondering if it’s just like “Animoji” or “AR Emoji” type of stuff… well… it’s on the same sphere but not same horizon. “Animoji” and “AR Emoji” are tracking and recording your face (eyes, noses, muscles … etc) movements and putting it in a video recording then send that file as an MMS to your recipients. Not only it takes time to create it but it takes space (storage-wise) as well. On the contrary, “Gboard Minis” takes the approach which took Apple to the throne and well executed it. The approach is … “it just works (beautifully & elegantly)”. No bullshitting stuff, no icing on the cake, no notda… just sitting there beautifully for you to grab and use it elegantly.
Gboard minis – No bullshitting stuff, no icing on the cake, no notda… just sitting there beautifully for you to grab and use it elegantly.
“Gboard Minis” – Personalized Emoji Made Right
We will jump in and show you how to set it up both on iOS and android phones/tablets; however, we would like to plow it through more on its implementation.
Unlike “Animaji” or “AR Emoji” that you will need to create your animoji messages or AR emoji messages every single time before you send it out (you can argue that is because they made for a different purpose but … patience and excitement runs out after a while), “Gboard Minis” lets you set up once and create a slew of cute also pretty (or handsome) emojis of YOU in so many different poses/stances ready for you to use anytime.
You heard (well… in this case…should be “read”) it right. You can easily pull out your phone from your pocket, fire up any message apps, social apps, or any apps supporting input and emojis and then pick and choose from many of your personalized “Minis” collection and send it out to the world.
How To Setup & Use “Gboard Minis”
Of course, you will need to install “Gboard – the Google Keyboard” first. After that, it’s just a breeze wind sort of smooth ride all the way to the end.
1) install "Gboard - the Google Keyboard" from Apple App Store 2) Open Gboard app and enable it (just following through the app instructions) * tap "Keyboard" on Settings * enable Gboard 3) Switch to Gboard when you are using input method * Tap and hold the "Globe" icon on the default Apple Keyboard * Tap Gboard to switch keyboards 4) Go to "Stickers" on Gboard app 5) Under "BROWSE" tab, you will see a section which is "Your minis" on the very top row 6) Tap the "Create" button 7) Enjoy your cute/cool/handsome/pretty personalized emojis collection
It’s a bit convoluted compared with the iOS setup. If you are an android user, you will create your “minis” right on the keyboard input rather than on the Gboard app settings.
1) install "Gboard - the Google Keyboard" from Google Play Store 2) Enable your Gboard on "Language and input" section via Settings 3) Fire up your message app (or any app using keyboard input) and tap the "smilie" face button on the bottom row of the keyboard 4) tap the square smile face and then tap the "+" button on the emoji icons row located on the very right 5) Under "BROWSE" tab, you will see a section which is "Your minis" on the very top row 6) Tap the "Create" button 7) Enjoy your cute/cool/handsome/pretty personalized emojis collection
“Emoji mini”, “Sweet mini”, and “Bold mini” – 3 Personalized Emoji Stickers Sets
Your minis – so beautifully invented in such a brilliant way which you really will appreciate it.
You will have 3 different types of emoji stickers at your disposal. The “Bold mini” is the one that will crack you a smile because you will really feel that the bold mini emojis are a person who looks very familiar to you… a person that you just saw this morning when you were brushing your teeth in front of your bathroom mirror. It’s just so beautifully invented in such a brilliant way which you really will appreciate it.
You will be able to hold 3 sets of emoji stickers at any time. If you decide that you would like to change it somehow, you can just delete it (any one of them or even all of them) and re-create the one that you would like to have. You can even customize them to fit your likes. Although the best emoji stickers are the one without any changes after we tested a few times (on more than 20 different people).
Best Not Yet to Come
The best of those minis sticker sets is that you will keep receiving other stickers based on the holidays or events. Google will keep piling up awesome emoji stickers onto your collections and, every time, when you open it up you might be surprised. For instance, Chinese New Year (this year is the year of pig), Valentine’s day, … etc this month alone. Therefore, you can bet on getting some great emoji stickers on some important events or some special holidays (Saint Patrick’s Day which is around the corner… etc).
If you decide to give the “Gboard” a try, you will also get lots of benefits along with just using it. For instance, the voice input is way better than any other offerings on the market. In addition, you can search GIF and insert right into your message conversations without getting out of the message app, searching on a browser app, downloading the GIF file, locating the GIF file, attaching the GIF file, and then sending it out. It’s just way too many steps to have fun if you use other keyboards. Moreover, you can type any word right on your conversation thread and let Gboard translate it for you in real time chat. It’s just a no-brainer to use Gboard to make your life much easier and wonderful.
Gboard – make your life much easier and wonderful.
Note: The voice input alone should be able to convert you since ... it's just a much better offering than any other providers can provide right at this moment.
In the new era of communication (text before you call), emoji is the protagonist in this red hot drama film. Although Apple as well as Samsung put their best efforts pushing their players, “Animaji” and “AR Emoji” respectively, onto the main stage, Google’s participant (Gboard – YOUR minis) is way better well dressed and prepared to this leading role. Occasionally you might still use the “Animoji” or “AR Emoji” (depending on which OS you are with), “YOUR minis” will always be the one that is always ready and right in the position whenever you need it without causing any drama or misdemeanors (e.g. creepy AR Emoji being sent).
